The State Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku has stressed the need for proper maintenance of government facilities.
The Deputy Governor stated this while addressing staff of the deputy governor’s office after an inspection visit in his office.
Prof. Njoku expressed displeasure on the state of the office of the deputy governor which was abandoned by the previous administration for an alternative office at the Odenigbo guest house.
He assured that the dilapidated office facilities would be renovated immediately and put into good use as the administration has taken off, while warning staff members against lateness to work and malingering, adding that hard work and dedication to duties would be rewarded.
On the commitment of the present administration to the development of the state, the Deputy Governor said government would among other things, upgrade the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport to an international status with good number of Cargo planes landing and taking off from the airport.
He reassured Imo people on the commitment to positively impact on their lives and urged them to contribute their quota in the development of the state as the administration is ready to welcome constructive ideas and suggestions that would move the state forward.
