The Chief of Army Staff (COAS),Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has decorated Army Headquarters Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Nwabueze Agbo to the rank of a Captain and aa well decorated MWO I Zakaria as the new AHQ RSM.
The decoration and investiture ceremony was done in the present of top military officers in the Army headquarters ,Abuja.
During the decoration ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. General Tukur Buratai told the officers that their promotion is well deserved.

“This your ranks are well deserved. You have all earned the ranks by working for it. Though by virtue of the number of years already put in service, you have little time left, you still have much more to give.
“Your next postings will take you to Units where you will impart your knowledge of discipline and regimentation on officers of the ranks of Lieutenants and others. We see you as very valuable to the service. You will still need to perform important tasks.
He advised the new Regimental Sergeant Major of Army headquarters to raise his game as the new appointment is task demanding.

Also, speaking after the decoration, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Army, Lt. Gen Lamidi Adeosun appreciated God for the elevation of the officers noting that all their lives, they have been serving the nation and the Nigerian Army diligently.
Giving his words of advice to the new Captains, Adeosun said as officers their responsibility is now higher, he told them that statutorily, a Captain in the Army is the Second in Command in a Company which is made up of 156 soldiers in the Infantry.

“In most cases, these days the Captains are the ones who command the Company, so you can see the enormity of responsibility on you”. He stressed.
He therefore charged them to continue to exhibit good conduct and deliver in their new positions.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Captain Nwabueze Agbo thanked God for using Gen Tukur Buratai to transform the Army to it’s high standards.
According to him Lt. Gen. Buratai’s input in terms of doctrine, organization, training, and Orbat review of the Nigerian Army in operations has made the Nigerian army officers and men to understand the Army better.
He also applauded the army Boss for bringing new welfare package for the officers and men of the Nigerian army.

“When you (COAS) slashed school fees in our Command Schools, you made our families happy and our children to go to school. Your renovation of our living quarters made us to live longer. When you introduced barracks empowerment programme, you made our families industrious.
Wabueze therefore applauded the giant strides and new innovation and inventions brought by Buratai and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of Buratai as COAS.

Those who were affected include, two Master Warrant Officers (MWO), Agbo Nwabueze, the former Army headquarters RSM, and Tijani Namadi to Captains respectively, while MWO Ibrahim Zakariah is the new Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) in Army Headquarters.
