The Nigerian military in a joint operations had encountered terrorists where 4 where captured alive, about 48 terrorists killed and many weapons recovered

This was revealed to newsmen during a press briefing by Maj. Gen. John Enenche, Coordinator , Defence Media Operations, Defence headquarters, Abuja.
Gen. Enwnche said, the troops of Sector Four Multinational Joint Task Force had repelled a terrorist attack, captured 4 terrorists alive and not less than 48 met their untimely deaths.
“Troops of Sector Four Multi-National Joint Task Force successfully repelled a Boko Haram Terrorists attack at Tumour in Republic of Niger.
“During the attack, Forty-Eight terrorists were invalidated while Four others were captured by the troops”. Enenche revealed.
According to the co-ordinator, the troops under Operation Lafiya Dole had also recorded some milestones of achievement over the terrorists.
He said, the troops had successfully repelled Boko haram attack at Yamteke in Gwoza LGA of Borno State where about 4 terrorists were invalidated,3 AK47 rifles, amongst other thongs were recovered.
Enenche also said, the local hunters had repelled the terrorists attacks in Sabon-Gari village of Madagali LGA in Adamawa where 2 terrorists were eliminated and 1
AK47 rifle recovered.

Gen. Enenche also revealed that, on 19th of March, 2 notorious gun runners were reportedly killed, 1 AK 47 rifle recovered among other items by the gallant multi agency troops of Operation Safe Haven when they encountered and defeated some gunmen at Kurgwi along Namu Chibdai road in Quan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The troops according the co-ordinator, on the same day, arrested 4 suspected Sara Suka activists during a cordon and search operation where many cutlasses, knives and substances suspected to be illicit drugs and charms were recovered from them.
The media co-ordinator further said, all those milestones achievement by the troops were made possible due to the intelligence gathering given to the troops by the locals.
He therefore commend their courage and cooperation and urge them to continue to co-operate with the Nigerian army and other security agencies to enabke them get rid of criminality across the country.
All these efforts were done by the collective and joint operations by the Nigerian military comprises of the Air, Land and maritime components under Operations Lafiya Dole, Safe Haven and Multinational Joint Task Force currently going on across country and other parts of west African countries like Niger amongst others.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen John Eneche had announced that,the Armed Forces of Nigeria, had involved in exercises that can transmute into real life operations
According to him, the Nigerian Navy had during the week, commenced Exercise ‘Treasure Guard 2’ at the Western Naval Command Area of Responsibility to increase confidence of the global shipping community.
The Exercise according to him “was approved to transmute to Exercise Obangame Express 2020 (which was supposed to be a multi-national exercise) which was cancelled due to the global health concern.

“The overall objective of the Exercise is to ensure a collective security and protection of our maritime assets”. Enenche explained.
He further convey the reassurance of the Chief of Defence Staff General Gabriel Olonisakin to the general public of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment towards the protection of lives and property across the country.
