The Nigerian military says, it has recovered various kinds of arms and amunitions in Ogbokoke and Odejo communities of Agatu local government of Benue state while bandits flee away.
This was done by the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke operating in the state.

An official statement signed and made available to Enugu Reporters by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Benerd Onyeuko detailed that ,the troops made an encounter with the bandits during a cordon and search operation in the area.
“Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke carried out cordon and search operation in Odogoke and Odejo communities in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State to apprehend bandits following deadly clashes on 23 March 2020.
During the operation, the bandits flee from the area abandoning their weapons” He explained.

Enugu Reporters gathered that, some of the weapons recovered by the troops during the encounter were include, one double barrel gun, nineteen locally made rifles, one pistol, four rounds of 7.62x54mm ammunition, three cartridges for pump action rifle among other accoutrements.
Gen. Onyeuko further said, normalcy have since returned in the affected communities as the general security in the area was also calm.
He reiterated that troops have dominated the area with fighting patrols to ensure peace and stability as well as security of lives and property is maintained in the area.

The Defence Headquarters therefore sued for the cooperation of the general public that any one with credible and useful information should contact the troops and other security agents to enable them get rid of the criminals in the area
