Troops of operation Hadarin Daji invalidates bandits,rescue kidnapped victims, recover weapons

Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI in Zamfara State in a successful ground and air operation eliminated bandits, rescued kidnapped victims and recovered a bunch of arms and ammunitions including motorcycle.

This operation was done through a subsidiary operation called Operation CHINGABA along Maru-Dansadau axis.

Maj. Gen. John Enenche, Co-ordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMO), Defence headquarters in a statement released to Enugu Reporters on Sunday said 9 bandits were killed, while about 14 kidnapped victims comprising of 10 men, 4 women and minors each were rescued during the operation.

Similarly according to Gen. Enenche, on 11 April 2020 in a sting operation at Isah Road close to Sarwa Village in Isah LGA Sokoto State, troops arrested a gun runner known as Alhaji following a credible information.

He added that, troops during the collection overpowered the bandits in an exchange of gun shots and successfully neutralised their leader, AKA Alhaji leaving his men to escape with various degrees of gunshot wounds.

According Enenche, many weapons were recovered,including One GPMG PKT, One hundred and forty rounds of 12.7mm, fifty three blank ammunition and One motorcycle, among others.

The Media Co-ordinator also reported that the similar operations, troops of FOB Dangulbi and Dansadau had also carried out a successful operation where they killed many bandits and recovered many arms .

“In the same vein on 11 April 2020 Troops of FOB Dangulbi and Dansadau at a blocking force at Gobirawa made contact with bandits forcing them to withdraw in disarray.

“Troops pursued and neutralized one bandit, recovered one AK 47 rifle, three 7.62mm special ammunition, water jet explosives, 2 inches Det 33 cable for IED and One motorcycle

“Furthermore, following sustained action on the bandits in Mutunj and Dansadau in Maru LGA on 10 April 2020, the Village Head of Mutumji handed over one AK 47 rifle captured from bandits to troops at FOB Dansadau”. He added.

He therefore solicits the cooperation of the general public to continue to provide useful information for the enhancement of Nigerian military operations.

Explaining that credible information is highly desirable in tackling security challenges.
