Air Strike:Troops Kill large army of Bandits in Maguga, Niger state

The Military high command has hinted that ,its Air Component of Operation GAMA AIKI has neutralized several armed bandits at Maguga in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

Statistically, this operation, amongst several ones by all components of the military all over the country are pointers or indicators to prove that the Nigerian military is taking no chances in it’s commitment and professional responsiveness in curbing the terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, rustling, amongst other criminality in the country.

Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMOs), Defence headquarters, Maj. Gen. John Enenche in a statement made available to Enugu Reporters on Tuesday.

Gen. Enenche maintained that the operation which was executed on 19th of April,2020, was conducted in collaboration of troops of Operation Thunder Strike.

He said, “sequel to reports that some armed bandits, clad in black attire, had been sighted along with a large herd of rustled cattle in the area.

“Accordingly, the Air Component scrambled its aircraft to attack the location. Upon sighting the approaching attack aircraft, the armed bandits scampered to conceal themselves under nearby shrubs but were engaged with cannon fire which led to the neutralization of several of them”. He reechoed.

In recent time,it seemed very clear that the military has redoubled its effort in maintaining the security and peace in Nigeria given the number of successes recorded in all the ongoing military operations in the country.

The conduct of this particular operation by the NAF is coming at a time the Air Force is Celebrating her 56 years of its existence.

NAF was formally established on 18th April, 1964 with the passage of Air Force Act in 1964 by the National Assembly.

He however wishes to thank all Nigerians in their plight to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria with useful and credible information which has been yielding positive results, urged them to maintain the tempo as the military is willing and desirous in curbing all forms of criminality in the country to keep Nigeria safer and most peaceful.
