The military high Command says troops of Sector 9 Operation Hadarin Daji had neutralised several bandits,recovered sophisticated weapons as well as rescued some of the kidnapped victims along Gidan Jaja in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Operation which was done on 24th April, 2020 in combination of other security formations including Troops of 35 Battalion and Quick Response Group of 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Two helicopter gun ships of the Nigerian Air Force, personnel of Nigeria Police Force and elements of Nigerian Army.
A statement signed and made available to Enugu Reporters by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMOs), Defence headquarters, Maj. Gen. John Enenche revealed that about 89 bandits were neutralized and unconfirmed number of bandits escaped with gunshot wounds.

He said, not fewer than 5 kidnapped victims comprising of 3 females and 2 males were rescued in the operation.
According to him, some of he items recovered include: 19 AK 47 rifles, 1 PKT machine gun,9 magazines, 167 rounds of 7.62 (Special), one dane gun and one locally made pistol were recovered.
Gen. Enenche added that , about 322 rustled cows, 77 motorcycles and 9 cell phones were also recovered during the operation. Just as their camps were cleared by troops.

According to him, the formal handing over of the kidnapped victims and rustled cows will be carried out after the due process.
He however expressed delight that after the operation, no casualty from the troops as the equipment were also intact.

He therefore relayed the congratulatory message of the Chief of Defence Staff to the Troops for this commendable feat.
