ENUGU
The Enugu state Government has setup six man panel of inquiry to carry out investigation on the land dispute in Ugwuaji, a community in Enugu south Local Government of the state.
According to statement issued by the secretary to the state government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, the panel as approved by the Enugu state executive council in its 10th meeting held on August 21st 2020, is expected to find out the rightful owners of the disputed land including its area, individual claims or title to the parcels of land and source other useful information to help restore peace in the community.
The government has therefore directed that all claims and activities on the disputed land should cease until the final submission of the panel’s report and the state government’s disposal action on the matter.
The panel is however, chaired by Chief James Ikenyi , SAN with Mr. Robinson Odoh, MNI, as the secretary. Other members include, Brigadier General Godwin Ugwoke (Rtd), Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu, Mr. Godwin Ishiwu (Surveyor General, Enugu State), and Barr. Chudi Ozokolo.
