The Defence Media Operations says, the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has through Air offensives destroyed 3 gun trucks belonging to Boko Haram terrorists in an accurate hits delivered by Nigerian Air Force helicopters at Mainok in Borno State.
The operation which was executed on 12th January, 2021 also left several Boko Haram insurgents dead, according to Maj. Gen. John Enenche.
Gen. Enenche who is the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations confirmed the success of this operation in a statement relayed to Enugu Reporters on Wednesday says,it’s conducted sequel to intelligence reports indicating that the BHTs, in several gun trucks, were traversing the Jakana-Mainok axis of the State.
“Accordingly, the Air Task Force scrambled NAF helicopter gunships to engage the convoy of BHT gun trucks and logistics vehicles.
“The helicopters delivered accurate hits in the target area, resulting in the destruction of 3 of the BHT vehicles, some of which were seen engulfed in flames.
“Several of the terrorists were also eliminated in the process.” he noted.
