The minister of transportation Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi has given reasons for the construction of the rail line from Kano to Maradi in Niger.
Amaechi made this known while on a social political programmes of Channels TV on Sunday night called Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye.
The minister said the project, which the ground breaking event will be on Tuesday, is basically for the purpose of economic gain and more for the people of Nigeria.
According to him, the construction would also boost both countries economy.
He added that there are much gains that the country can gain from the neighboring countries but unfortunately the country lacks the infrastructure to tap on these gains maintaining that this administration would do everything possible to tap them.
However on the cost for the rail the minister said $1.5billion will be the cost for the rail way construction and said it is almost gotten.
Amaechi therefore said the government is doing enough on transportation in Nigeria, he therefore appeal to the press not to under report on the achievement of this present administration, saying Buhari’s government is doing enough.
