Troops of Sector 3 Operation HADARIN DAJI have thwarted a would be deadly attack and eliminated several bandits, leaving some escaped with gunshot wounds at Kabasa village in Magami Local Government, Zamfara State.
Director, Army Public Relations in a statement relayed to Enugu Reporters, explained that “ the timely arrival of troops forestalled a deadly kidnap and plundering operations by armed bandits which was underway.”
The successful operation followed a credible tip-off from a credible indicating that bandits were attacking locals.
Troops swiftly responded and engaged them, neutralising scores of them while others escaped into the forest with bullet wounds.
The statement regrettably noted that one of the soldiers paid his supreme price while three others sustained various degrees of injuries during the encounter. They are currently receiving medical treatment.
“Troops have dominated the general area with aggressive patrols and have continued further exploitation and pursuit of the bandits into the forest.”
In the same vain, troops also foiled bandits attack with superior fire power
at Gidan Goga village in Maradun LGA of Zamfara state, gunning down three criminals while others fled in disarray, some with gunshot wounds.
Troops also rescued two female captives while on rescue patrol operation in Birnin Gwari area.
Army spokesperson said, “preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were kidnapped 22 days ago from Kuyallo village Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna state.
“The victims have been given medical treatment while waiting to be reunited with their families.”
