Breaking: Nigerian Air Force ALPHA-JET looses radar contact

Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), says its Alpha-Jet has lost contact with radar in Borno State, while on interdiction mission in support of ground troops.

It noted that the mission was part of the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North East.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet who is the Director of the DOPRI,NAF disclosed this in a statement made available to Enugu Reporters, said the loss of radar contact occurred yesterday, 31 March 2021 at about 5:08 pm

According to him, details of the whereabout of the aircraft or the likely cause of contact loss was yet to be ascertained.

But the NAF spokesman said it will be relayed to the general public as soon as they become clear.

He noted that, search and rescue operation is ongoing.
