The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has praised the Nigerian Army Signals for their crucial contributions to counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North East, North West, and other parts of the country.

Director, Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu in a statement said the COAS lauded the Corps ‘ innovative prowess in ICT ,noting that its contributions and exploits have placed them side by side with its peers globally.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the remodeled and expanded Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals Corps Complex on Wednesday, General Lagbaja acknowledged the Corps’ rapid development and transformation in the ICT sector, harnessing new technologies to develop state-of-the-art networks that enhance command and control in the Nigerian Army.
The COAS commended the Corps for extending its services to other government agencies and the private sector, projecting the Nigerian Army’s image in the ICT world. He noted that the remodelled Signals Headquarters and the commissioned 60-room Student Officers’ hostel are part of the Army Headquarters’ infrastructural development efforts to provide a conducive working and living environment for personnel.


General Lagbaja highlighted the Army’s achievements in the past 11 months, including the construction and renovation of living quarters, provision of portable water, improved medical facilities, and renovation of office facilities.
He praised the Commander Corps of Signals, Major General Gbemiga Adesina, for his initiative and the staff officers and personnel of the Corps for their efforts in repositioning the Nigerian Army Signals.
The COAS expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and confidence in the Nigerian Army and its leadership.
