The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has commissioned a fleet of 150 vehicles and 500 motorcycles (armada) donated by the Kaduna State Governor, His Excellency Uba Sani, to security agencies in Kaduna State.
According to the report released on Tuesday by the Director Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the ceremony, held on May 28, 2024, marked a significant boost to the operational readiness and mobility of security personnel in the state.
While performing the ceremony, General Musa expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Sani for the invaluable donation, which he described as a “gesture of solidarity and support” that underscores the strong partnership between the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) and government at both federal and state levels.
The CDS emphasized that the vehicles and motorcycles will enhance the capacity of security agencies to safeguard the security and sovereignty of Nigeria, and called on members of the AFN and other security agencies to recommit themselves to the noble cause of defending the nation with honour and integrity.
“Let us harness the capabilities of these vehicles to further enhance our operational effectiveness, protect our communities, and uphold the values of loyalty, courage, and unity that define our armed forces”. “Together, we stand as guardians of peace, guardians of freedom, and guardians of the Nigerian people.” He stated.
The CDS also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his profound support to the AFN and all security agencies in their effort to fulfil their constitutional roles.
Governor Uba Sani, in his remarks, said the donation is a demonstration of his administration’s continued support of security forces and a gesture of appreciation for their sacrifices.
He said the gesture was a deliberate effort to enhance the operational capabilities of the security agencies in the State.
He also directed the state Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs to name the conference hall of the Ministry in memory of late Lieutenant Colonel AH Ali, a gallant Army officer who lost his life while defending the nation in Delta State.
Enugu Reporters notes that the armada donation represents a substantial commitment to supporting security agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity.”
