Op Success: Military obliterates 202 terrorists, 437 oil thieves in week-long Ops

The Nigerian Armed Forces have announced a major victory in their ongoing military operations against counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism and oil thieves. According to a statement released by the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said troops have neutralized 202 terrorists, arrested 437 others, and recovered a massive cache of weapons and ammunition in the last week alone.

According to the statement, the military’s counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations have been intensifying in recent weeks, with airstrikes and ground offensives targeting terrorist enclaves across the country.
The latest results indicated that there’s a significant milestone in the fight against terrorism and oil theft, with troops also rescuing 209 kidnapped hostages and preventing oil theft worth an estimated N718,171,000.00 in the South-South region.

Some of the recovered weapons and ammunition, according to General Buba include a wide range of lethal items, including rifles, guns, pistols, and explosives. The military also seized 707,200 litres of stolen crude oil, 149,700 litres of illegally refined AGO, and 400 litres of DPK, dealing a significant blow to oil thieves and their illegal activities.

The statement reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to restoring safety and security across the country, maintaining that the latest results demonstrate their unwavering resolve to achieve this goal.

The military’s success is a testament to their bravery, skill, and dedication to protecting the nation and its citizens, Enugu Reporters reported.
