The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has presented new pickup vehicles to 9 Air Warrant Officers (AWOs) at a ceremony held at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Asokoro, Abuja, on June 11, 2024.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information,NAF, in a statement said this gesture aimed to enhance morale, ensure discipline, and uphold vital military traditions.
During the ceremony, the CAS, said the presentation of new vehicles is a recognition of the selfless service and exemplary lifestyle of AWOs, who serve as mentors to their subordinates and are instrumental in maintaining regimentation and discipline within the NAF. He emphasized that human resources are the most critical asset in any organization, and the welfare and motivation of personnel are crucial in achieving the NAF’s goals and aspirations.
During his appreciation, AWO Menone Perefhibo, the most senior recipient, expressed gratitude to the CAS for his leadership and command philosophy, which have created a conducive environment for AWOs to thrive. He noted that the presentation of the vehicles is a testament to the CAS’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of personnel.
In addition to the vehicle presentation, the CAS also commissioned a garden and park at NAF Base, Asokoro, and a Sewage Treatment Plant consisting of 6 sewage treatment plants and 6 lift stations. This infrastructure development aims to provide a clean and healthy living environment for NAF personnel and their families.
The event was attended by Branch Chiefs, Directors, and other senior officers from HQ NAF, as well as the Managing Director of BIOTECH, Mr. Aena Talabi, and other BIOTECH staff members.
The presentation of new vehicles to AWOs and the commissioning of infrastructure projects demonstrate the CAS’s commitment to the welfare and operational effectiveness of NAF personnel. This investment in human and physical capital is crucial for achieving the NAF’s goals and aspirations, Enugu Reporters noted.
