In a precision operation, Nigerian security forces have dismantled multiple hideouts of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Abia State. The raid, conducted in the Umudi Forest and Umuaku areas of Umunneochi Local Government Area, resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists, destruction of a shrine and a major camp, and the recovery of a cache of weapons and items.
Reports say, the feat was achieved sequel to additional intelligence gathered in the aftermath of the recent raid operations against the terrorists in Ihechiowa community of Arochukwu Local Government Area in the same state.
The seized items include an AK-47 rifle, pump-action cartridges, Baofeng radios, daggers, and various other weapons, cash of money worth two thousand naira only and accessories.
The operation, a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to restore peace and order in the region, showcased the military’s renewed strategy and determination to tackle the separatist group’s activities, Enugu Reporters reported.
The successful operation further demonstrates the Nigerian military’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Abia State and its environs
