COAS extends warm Eid-El-Kabir greetings to NA family, commends troops’ gallantry

In a heartfelt goodwill message, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has extended warm felicitations to the Nigerian Army (NA) family on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir, lauding troops’ commitment and gallantry in addressing security challenges. This was contained in a statement issued by the Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu on Sunday.

According to the statement, the COAS described the Eid-El-Kabir as a significant festival highlighting the importance of sacrifice in humanity and divinity.

Marking his first year in office, General Lagbaja expressed gratitude for the gift of life and relative peace restored in troubled areas. He acknowledged the enormous sacrifice made by the Nigerian Army in the battle against terrorism, insurgency, secessionist agitations and crimes, noting troops’ unalloyed loyalty, courage, and faith in the nation.

The COAS urged collective support for government reforms to restore economic prosperity and renewed commitment to selflessness and patriotism. He reaffirmed his dedication to providing visionary leadership for effective training, robust living standards, and operational effectiveness.

General Lagbaja expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, Minister of Defence, and Chief of Defence Staff for their support and guidance. He lauded Nigerians and the international community for their belief in the Nigerian Army, looking forward to continued collaboration to end security challenges and create an enabling environment for economic prosperity.
