Students from the Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS) recently undertook an informative study tour to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), aimed at enhancing their academic and professional development.
The tour was led by Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, the Acting Commandant NAIS, the delegation comprised young officers, counterintelligence officers, and senior non-commissioned officers.
Upon arrival, they were received by Mr. Heakey Dimowo, Director of Marine and Environmental Management at NIMASA, who provided valuable insights into the agency’s statutory responsibilities and contributions to maritime safety. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between NIMASA and the Nigerian Army and praised the Commandant for the tour visit noting that it would enhance their mutual benefits.
Enugu Reporters reports that the students engaged in informative lectures on NIMASA’s responsibilities, maritime safety protocols, and the C4I Centre of the Deep Blue Project.
Earlier, the Commandant NAIS underscored the academic importance of the tour to widen the knowledge and experience of the personnel to boost their performance.
The tour aimed to familiarize students with NIMASA’s roles in addressing contemporary security challenges, particularly the Deep Blue project.
In a nutshell, the event strengthened the partnership between NIMASA and the Nigerian Army, aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision of transforming the Nigerian Army into a highly skilled and motivated force.
The study tour concluded with a facility tour, souvenir exchange, and group photographs, symbolizing the strengthened partnership. This collaborative effort demonstrated the importance of knowledge-sharing and cooperation in addressing complex security challenges, setting a positive precedent for future engagements.
