Naval Training Command strengthens ties with OPDS

In a gesture of inter-command solidarity and cooperation, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral Istifanus Albara, Thursday, embarked on a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Upon arrival, the FOC NAVTRAC was warmly received by Rear Admiral JU Okeke, Commander OPDS. During the visit, Rear Admiral Albara informed the Commander OPDS of the strategic relocation of NAVTRAC’s Headquarters from Lagos to Ebubu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and highlighted the command’s role as a premier training centre, boasting 14 specialized schools.

Rear Admiral Okeke during his remarks expressed his delight at the FOC NAVTRAC’s visit, acknowledging the importance of fostering closer ties between the two commands. He looked forward to enhanced cooperation in areas of training and operations, leveraging the expertise and resources of both NAVTRAC and OPDS.

Enugu Reporters reports that the significant visit aims to strengthen the relationship between NAVTRAC and OPDS, promoting collaboration and synergy in achieving their shared goals.

The Nigerian Navy remains committed to enhancing its operational effectiveness through strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives.
