In a bid to reinforce the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to educational excellence, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring the safety, well-being, and academic excellence of students in all NAF schools nationwide.
The CAS stated this during a recent visit to the Air Force Comprehensive School in Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF stated this in a statement, Thursday said Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that any compromise on the priorities of well-being, safety and academic excellence will not be tolerated.
He urged commandants and staff to prioritize student interests and follow guidelines to prevent avoidable incidents, stressing the importance of a conducive learning environment.
The CAS stated, “It is your responsibility to identify red flags and forestall avoidable incidents or tragedies. I will not condone any act that would lead to injuries or the death of our students.”
Abubakar also highlighted the NAF’s investment in education as a vital aspect of its welfare package, supporting families and contributing to human capital development.
During his visit, he inspected ongoing renovation works as part of a phased School Intervention Strategy to upgrade NAF schools across Nigeria. The NAF currently operates 13 secondary schools and 21 primary schools, with additional schools expected to open by September 2024.
This reaffirms the NAF’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment, empowering students to reach their full potential, and contributing to the nation’s human capital development, Enugu Reporters gathered.
