In a significant blow to terrorism, Nigerian Army troops have achieved major successes in a series of coordinated operations.
The report says troops also neutralized several terrorists, recovered deadly arms and ammunition, and rescued rustled cattle.
The operations, which took place across various states, demonstrate the Army’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and criminality.
On August 12, 2024, troops raided an Islamic West Africa Province (ISWAP) enclave in Borno State, neutralizing five terrorists and recovering RPG bombs, Dane guns, and AK-47 rifle magazines. Additionally, 44 Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to troops in Borno State.
In Plateau State, troops arrested notorious cattle rustler Mallam Maawuya Shuaibu, recovering 32 rustled cows.
Similarly, in Bayelsa State, troops arrested suspected criminals and recovered firearms, while in Oyo State, a suspected gun runner was apprehended, confessing to supplying arms to a kidnap syndicate.
These successes highlight the Nigerian Army’s dedication to restoring peace and security across the country, and its efforts to combat terrorism, criminality, and other security challenges.
