The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has called for a collaborative partnership between the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
This appeal follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signing of the DICON Act into law.
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Acting Director Defence Media Information in a statement issued on Friday said it was aimed at promoting technological development in education and enhancing the nation’s economy.
During a courtesy visit from TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Mr. Sonny Echono, General Musa emphasized the significance of education in human capacity development and its pivotal role in efficient service delivery in the Armed Forces.
He expressed gratitude for TETFund’s interventions in military institutions and assured continued support for Nigeria’s educational developments.
Mr. Echono commended the Armed Forces for their selfless services and support for education establishments, particularly in providing an enabling environment for education to thrive despite security challenges.
He expressed TETFund’s willingness to partner with the military and education establishments in research, innovation, and technological development.
The TETFund boss praised the Armed Forces for being vanguards of innovation, bringing solutions to critical national issues.
He pledged sustained support for military institutions and collaboration with DICON and other sectors to achieve national aspirations.
This strategic partnership aims to leverage resources and expertise to drive technological advancement and education, ultimately enhancing Nigeria’s economy and security.
By fostering collaboration between DICON and TETFund, Nigeria can unlock new opportunities for growth and development, driving progress and innovation in the years to come, Enugu Reporters noted.
