The troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) from Sector 3 Mongunu, in collaboration with intelligence operatives and Civilian Joint Tasks Force, have intercepted a key Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supply syndicate at Cross Kauwa Market in Mongunu, Borno State.
Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer Headquarters MNJTF N’djamena -Chad revealed this on Tuesday said the syndicates, consisting of Modu Gana, Mamman Saleh, and Babagana Muktar, were caught transporting essential supplies to the terrorists’ enclaves.
Upon interrogation, they confessed to being vital logistics providers for the terrorist group.
During the encounter, a significant cache of items intended for the terrorists was seized, including food supplies, communication devices, charms and other essential supplies.
The successful operation, according to the statement has severely disrupted the terrorist’s supply chain, dealing a significant blow to their operations in the region.
The arrested syndicate members are currently undergoing intense interrogation to extract further intelligence, which could lead to more arrests and dismantling of the terrorist logistics supply network in the Lake Chad Region.
The MNJTF troops’ swift action and collaboration with intelligence operatives demonstrate their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring regional safety and security.
