Terminal promotion reserved for exceptional officers, Says Chief of Air Staff

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has emphasized that terminal promotions in the military are exclusively reserved for officers who have made truly exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the Services.

The CAS stated this at the decoration ceremony of Air Vice Marshal Amos Bulus on Friday.

According to the Director of Public Relations and Information NAF, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said the CAS highlighted that the promotion recognizes a career marked by excellence, commitment, and dedication to progress.

He noted that the promotion acknowledges the countless hours of work, challenges faced, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of the Air Force.

Air Marshal Abubakar praised Air Vice Marshal Bulus for his pioneering initiatives, which have had a lasting impact on NAF operations, noting that he deserves honours.
He cited the implementation of the first-ever NAF-operated online recruitment and enlistment platform, which revolutionized NAF recruitment processes, and the design of the NAF electronic document management and paperless system.

Earlier, the Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Idi Sani, noted that Air Vice Marshal Bulus’s promotion was approved by the Air Force Council on June 24, 2024, in recognition of his contributions to NAF Mission objectives.

The decoration ceremony, attended by family, friends, and colleagues, showcased the CAS’s commitment to encouraging and motivating personnel who exhibit dedication and loyalty to the Service.

Enugu Reporters reports that Air Vice Marshal Bulus will commence his retirement from the NAF immediately.
