CDS lauds NIM as “Beacon of Excellence” after prestigious fellowship honour

The Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM) has conferred the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, with its highest Professional Membership Grade Award.

Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said the honour was bestowed upon General Musa on Thursday, 22 August 2024, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to excellence.

In his acceptance speech, General Musa described NIM as “a beacon of excellence, fostering leadership, ethics, and professionalism in the management sphere.”

He emphasized that the recognition serves as a reminder of the vital role efficient management plays in the advancement and security of Nigeria.

General Musa acknowledged that serving in the armed forces has taught him the value of strategic leadership, discipline, and devotion to duty – values consistent with NIM’s objectives.

He pledged to continue upholding the high standards of excellence, integrity, and professionalism and expressed gratitude for the honour.

NIM National President Dr. Christiana Ataka emphasized that the fellowship upgrade is a call to higher responsibility and service to the institute, the management profession, and the nation.
She urged recipients to devote their time, talent, and expertise to the service of the institute and the nation.

The event also honoured NIM’s elder statesmen and women with life membership awards for their dedication and commitment to the institute.
