The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has urged the Air Component Commanders to intensify efforts in ongoing operations across the nation.
The CAS made the clarion call in a virtual meeting held on August 26, 2024 when he commended the Commanders for their exceptional performance.
According to the statement relayed to Enugu Reporters by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said the CAS highlights the critical role of the commanders in ensuring national safety and security.
“The Nigerian Air Force and the entire nation are proud of your achievements,” the CAS stated. “Your unwavering commitment and tactical prowess have led to a series of successful missions, neutralizing key terrorist leaders, disrupting oil thieves and pipeline vandals, and safeguarding national assets.”
While acknowledging progress, the CAS emphasized that challenges persist and urged the commanders to maintain momentum. He stressed the importance of vigilance, intelligence-driven precision strikes, and collaborative efforts with sister services to neutralize remaining threats.
“We must not rest on our laurels. The nation’s security depends on our continued resolve. I charge you to intensify your efforts and push forward with even greater determination. The Nigerian Air Force will provide all necessary support to ensure mission success.”
The CAS reassured the Commanders of the NAF leadership’s commitment to their welfare and provision of resources to enhance operational capabilities. He expressed confidence in their ability to deliver, stressing that national security and peace are paramount.
Recent airstrikes targeting terrorists and oil thieves have earned a commendation from the CAS and Nigerians.
The NAF remains committed to allocating resources to restore peace, ensuring citizens can pursue their activities without fear.
