The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Mr Wale Edun, on Tuesday visited the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja to identify and show significant support to the military.
He was received by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, who assured him of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) unwavering commitment to defending democracy in Nigeria.

General Musa expressed gratitude for the minister’s support, highlighting the AFN’s successes in decimating terrorist and criminal activities.
He emphasized the military’s collaborative efforts with other security agencies to ensure the safety of critical government assets and increase oil production, thereby boosting economic activities.
Earlier, Mr Edun commended the AFN for its role in maintaining national stability, allowing the economy to thrive and businesses to prosper.

He acknowledged the military’s immense sacrifices in securing the country and expressed confidence in the present administration’s economic performance, citing positive indicators and desired results.

Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau in a statement said the visit underscores the synergy between the military and economic sectors in Nigeria, recognizing the AFN’s crucial role in maintaining national security and stability, essential for economic growth and development.
