In a resplendent ceremony held at the Shell Hall of MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) conferred its highest honour, the Fellowship Award, on 149 deserving individuals, including the wife of Brigadier General Isang Akpaumontia, Barrister Mrs. Ndidiamaka Helen Akpaumontia.
The event, a showcase of elegance and sophistication, celebrated the achievements of these exceptional individuals.
Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Atako, President and Chairman of the Council, NIM, emphasized that this prestigious award is a call to higher responsibility and service to the Institute, the management profession, and the nation.
The Fellowship upgrade process, initiated in 1963, recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to the field.
Barrister Mrs Ndidiamaka Akpaumontia, a seasoned legal practitioner and accredited mediator, was hailed for her outstanding contributions.
Born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nwanchukwu Okorie from Nkanu West in Enugu State, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Uyo and a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in England.
With a distinguished career spanning various legal professional bodies and appointments, Mrs. Akpaumontia is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
She is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Akpaumontia is dedicated to philanthropy through her Sangdid Foundation, which supports the well-being of widows and children. Happily married with four children, she exemplifies excellence in both her personal and professional life.
This recognition by NIM solidifies Mrs Akpaumontia’s position as a leading figure in her field, and her contributions will undoubtedly continue to inspire and impact the nation.
