In a landmark event, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Jamal Abdussalam, underscored the imperative of complementing operational successes with sound administration and robust welfare for troops.
This assertion was made on Tuesday, during the commissioning of a 68-room Soldiers Transit Accommodation at 3 Battalion, Effurun Barracks, Warri, in Delta State.
Major General Abdussalam highlighted the significance of quality leadership and unity of purpose in achieving exemplary goals, as exemplified by the commissioned project.
He emphasized that the transit accommodation represents a remarkable milestone, addressing a critical need for troops and aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) command philosophy.
The GOC commended the efforts of Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL) in achieving the project, which will benefit the unit, Brigade, and the NA.
He acknowledged the substantial resources committed by TSSL, demonstrating the strong bond between the NA and the outfit, transcending operational synergy and fostering a spirit of camaraderie and goodwill.
Major General Abdussalam reassured that the 6 Division will continue to safeguard critical national infrastructure, ensuring increased oil production in the region.
He also provided updates on the ongoing operations regarding the Okuoma killing, emphasizing the commitment to recovering carted-away arms.
The GOC urged soldiers to utilize and maintain the facility effectively, commending the Commander 63 Brigade and Commanding Officers for their achievements.
Earlier, Brigadier General Unachukwu, Commander 63 Brigade, attributed the Brigade’s operational and administrative strides to the GOC’s guidance and support.
Captain Warredi Enisouh, Executive Director, Operations and Technical, TSSL, represented the Chairman and expressed gratitude for the synergy between the NA and TSSL. He emphasized the project’s significance and the company’s commitment to supporting the NA’s efforts in developing and securing the region and nation.
The newly commissioned transit accommodation, Enugu Reporters have learnt boasts 68 rooms, 18 bathrooms/conveniences, and 3 central kitchens, equipped to accommodate at least 140 soldiers, with sufficient space for training and exercises.
