The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged its unwavering support for his vision of a safer and stronger Nigeria.

This commitment was made by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, during the CAS Second Biannual Meeting with NAF Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Field Commanders, and Commandants of Tri-service and NAF Major Institutions.

Director Public Relations and Information NAF, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa disclosed this in a statement relayed to Enugu Reporters on Thursday.

Air Marshal Abubakar expressed strong confidence in the Senior Leadership’s capabilities to spearhead the ongoing transformation, emphasizing the need for innovation, resilience, and adaptability to confront evolving threats.

He congratulated those newly appointed to their roles, emphasizing that their appointments were indicative of their pedigree of hard work and dedication.

The CAS highlighted the significant strides made by the NAF in its transformation, with the induction of 12 aircraft into its inventory in the past year and an additional 50 aircraft expected by 2026.
He described the development as a “Golden Era” of transformation for the NAF.

The CAS also commended the transformational leadership of the AOCs and Branch Chiefs in addressing expanded counter-insurgency operations in the North West and anti-oil theft operations in the South South.

He noted that President Tinubu has also demonstrated his commitment to national security, having shown determination to ensure that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is equipped with the best weapons, platforms, and logistics to effectively carry out its constitutional role.

He reiterated that his command philosophy focuses on transforming the force into an agile and resilient entity that effectively meets the airpower demands of national security.

This vision is enabled by optimizing force structure, deliberate training, proactive logistics support, prioritizing research and development, and maintaining a highly motivated force.

Air Marshal Abubakar called for an open, objective, and constructive dialogue during the two-day meeting, expressing confidence that the outcomes would further consolidate the NAF’s capabilities. He emphasized the importance of continuous assessment, adaptation, and decisive action, citing Colonel John Boyd’s “Observe-Orient-Decide-Act (OODA) Loop” decision-making framework.

Enugu Reporters reports that by reaffirming loyalty to the President and committing to transformation, the Nigerian Air Force demonstrates its dedication to ensuring the safety and stability of Nigeria. The meeting serves as a platform for critical review and recalibration of strategies to enhance the operational effectiveness of the NAF.
