The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), yesterday successfully airlifted essential relief materials donated by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu to flood victims in Borno State.
Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director Public Relations and Information, NAF, in a statement said, the airlifting is a demonstration of NAF’s dedication to providing aid to civil authorities.
The vital supplies, generously donated by First Lady under the Renewed Hope Initiative, were transported from Abuja to Maiduguri via the NAF’s C-130 Hercules aircraft.
The statement said, the airlifted materials, comprising food items, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, will provide crucial support to affected communities devastated by the September 10 flood disaster.
Senior NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander, Operation HADIN KAI, received the relief materials before handing them over to the Borno State Government for distribution.
This mission showcases the NAF’s unwavering commitment to providing timely humanitarian assistance, particularly in regions severely impacted by natural disasters.
According to the statement, the Air Force has also launched a medical outreach programme to support flood victims and provided food for over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons during the crisis.
The collaborative effort between the First Lady’s office and the NAF highlights the importance of collective action in alleviating the suffering of those affected by the flood.
This joint initiative demonstrates the NAF’s continued dedication to supporting those in need to alleviate their pains.
