As the world celebrates the joyous occasion of Christmas, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS ), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended his warmest felicitations to the members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
General Musa felicitation message was contained in a statement signed and relayed to Enugu Reporters by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau on Tuesday.
In his heartfelt message, General Musa reflected on the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ, which symbolizes the triumph of hope and good tidings over despair.
He urged the Christian faithful within the Armed Forces to use this sacred period for introspection, solemnly reflecting on the boundless love of God and the importance of embracing the values of love, forgiveness, and togetherness as embodied by Jesus Christ.
General Musa acknowledged that the year 2024 has been marked by significant events and challenges, including the loss of colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Despite these hardships, he expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for the gift of life and the opportunity to witness another Christmas celebration.
As a tribute to their fallen comrades, General Musa called on the troops to strive for a positive transformation in the security landscape of Nigeria in 2025, ensuring that their sacrifices are not in vain.
The Chief of Defence Staff also expressed his deep admiration for the resilience and unwavering dedication of the troops, who have consistently demonstrated their courage and willingness to fight for the security and prosperity of the nation.
He reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to upholding the principles of the Renewed Hope Agenda, as envisioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and pledged their unshakeable loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his final remarks, General Musa urged all members of the Armed Forces and security agencies to remain vigilant and dedicated to protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians, while warning those who would seek to undermine the nation’s security to reconsider their actions.
As the year draws to a close, he extended his warmest wishes to the Armed Forces, security agencies, and all Nigerians, hoping that the festive season would bring joy, peace, and happiness to all.
