The Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) has made significant strides in improving the quality of education in its Command Schools, courtesy to the innovative leadership of Corps Commander Maj Gen Bello Alhaji Tsoho.
During the West African Social Activities (WASA) 2024, held at the Command Children School Playing Ground in Yaba, Lagos, Maj Gen Tsoho highlighted the Corps’ achievements and expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of the NAEC.
According to him, the NAEC’s innovative strategies, including the implementation of a 40-student per class policy, harmonization of the Scheme of Work, and integration of co-curricular activities, have yielded impressive results.
He noted that one of the Command Schools has emerged as the overall best public school in Nigeria, as recognized by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
He averred that the Corps’ efforts have also led to ongoing infrastructural interventions in 6 pioneer Command Secondary Schools and the Nigerian Military School in Zaria, aimed at improving the comfort, learning experiences, and overall appeal of the schools.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, Maj Gen Kola Ogunkoya (retired), praised Maj Gen Tsoho’s transformative leadership and visionary blueprint, which has helped reposition the NAEC to achieve excellence.
The event was a celebration of the rich African heritage and the traditions within the Nigerian Army, with cultural displays by different ethnic groups, presentation of awards to deserving soldiers, and the beating of the retreat, which marked the end of the year 2024.
As the NAEC continues to strive for excellence, it is clear that the future of education in the Nigerian Army is bright, with a strong foundation laid for generations to come, Enugu Reporters noted.
