Major General Ahmadu Bello Mohammed has taken the reins as the 38th Commandant of the Depot Nigerian Army, and he’s already making his presence felt. He took over from Major General Muhammed Aminu Abdullahi.
During the Handing and Taking Over Ceremony, held at the headquarters Depot Nigerian Army Chindit Cantonment,Zaria, the Commandant emphasized the importance of dedication and professionalism among officers and soldiers, urging them to maintain the highest standards in their roles as instructors.



The Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army,Major Everest Ochienta in a statement on Tuesday said General Mohammed noted that his goal is to produce well-trained and skilled soldiers who can make a positive impact in the Nigerian Army.
He highlighted one of the key areas he’s focusing on including the welfare of recruits, their feeding, medical care, and training.
He said he’s committed to improving these aspects to the highest standards, while also prioritizing the overall well-being of officers and soldiers.


He , however , cautioned instructors against sentiment, fraternization, and unprofessional conduct, emphasizing the need for a disciplined and professional approach to their work.
Earlier in his welfare address, the outgoing Commandant , Major General Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi hankwd the officers and soldiers for their cooperation and support accorded him during his tour of duty. He also charged them to give the same level of support and cooperation to the new Commandant to succeed.
The ceremony was a significant event, marked by the signing of the Handing and Taking Over Notes, the decoration of Major General Mohammed with the Depot Nigerian Army Insignia, and the symbolic handing over of the Command Flag. It was attended by senior officers, including Colonel Salisu Tafida, and other personnel from the Depot Nigerian Army.
