In a strong statement of resolve, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering dedication to national security, promising to hunt down and eliminate all threats to the country’s peace.
Speaking at the NAF Administration and Personnel Management Seminar in Abuja on Wednesday , Air Marshal Abubakar declared that the NAF will extend the long arm of the law, bringing justice to criminals hiding in ungoverned spaces.
According to the Director Public Relations and Information NAF Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa in a statement said, the CAS emphasized that ongoing air operations against criminal elements demonstrate the Air Force’s resolve to protect innocent lives and restore peace across the nation.
Air Marshal Abubakar highlighted the importance of sound administration and personnel management in the success of military operations, emphasizing the need to align human resource practices with the evolving security landscape.
He revealed that the NAF has significantly expanded under his leadership, with investments in modernized Human Resource Management, digitalized record-keeping, and enhanced training programs.
The CAS also outlined significant improvements in personnel welfare, including better medical facilities, expanded accommodation, and improved insurance policies, with over 2,972 personnel benefiting from new or renovated housing.
Recognizing the importance of continuous learning, Air Marshal Abubakar noted that 601 personnel of the Admin branch have undergone specialized training since he assumed office, aimed at enhancing leadership and management skills across all ranks.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as to retired officers and distinguished guests whose insights would enrich discussions at the Seminar.
The 2-day event is expected to provide actionable strategies to refine NAF HRM practices, ensuring that the Service remains at the forefront of national security efforts with a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
With the recent establishment of new branches and directorates, the NAF is shifting from traditional skills to more specialized expertise, and the Seminar’s importance in addressing emerging manpower requirements cannot be overstated, Enugu Reporters noted.
