The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has joined numerous Nigerians in condoling with Our Nigeria News over the passing of their leading editor, Mr. Lawrence Bilal Audu, who died in his sleep on Thursday, 6 February 2025.

In a statement signed by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said General Musa described the late Lawrence as an embodiment of hard work, committed to upholding the highest standards of journalism in the country.

He praised Lawrence’s steadfast commitment to ensuring that the rules and ethics of journalism are followed and respected in the reportage of events at all times.

The CDS noted that Lawrence was a prolific and dedicated Defence Correspondent, and as the Editor-in-Chief of the North East Star Magazine, his exceptional reporting on the crisis in the North East was truly commendable.

General Musa recalled that their paths crossed when he was the Theater Commander of OPERATION HADIN KAI in the North East, and he remembered Lawrence as a hardworking, patriotic, and dedicated journalist with a fine disposition.
