The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, has urged the 208 candidates participating in the 2025 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) to remain focused, disciplined, and determined throughout the examination process.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba Sani, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations TRADOC disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Maj Gen Aligbe while speaking on Sunday, 9 February 2025, at the Maj Gen Joseph Nanven Garba Hall, Post Graduate School of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, congratulated the candidates for reaching this critical milestone in their military careers.
The Commander who is also the Examination President emphasized the importance of laying a solid foundation for their career progression and reminded them that their conduct during the examinations could make or mar their career.
He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s zero-tolerance policy towards malpractice and advised the candidates to use this opportunity to consolidate their chosen career.
He urged them to embody the core values of the Nigerian Army, including discipline, courage, and exemplary behavior, which are essential for their career trajectory.
Maj Gen Aligbe explained that the 2025 LCPPE is designed to achieve several objectives, including improving the candidates’ knowledge of the military profession, assisting the Nigerian Army in career planning, testing physical fitness, and stimulating a healthy competitive spirit amongst the candidates.
Earlier, the Chief Host and General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Mayirenso Saraso, welcomed the candidates and urged them to put in their best effort to come out successful in the examination.
He thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for giving the Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army the opportunity to host the examination and appreciated the Commander TRADOC NA for recommending 1 Division to host the examination.
The event was attended by several high-ranking officers, including the Deputy Chief of Training, Maj Gen Ayoola Aboaba, and the Chief of Training TRADOC NA, Maj Gen Peter Okoye.
According to the statement, the NA emphasized the importance of this examination, which is a critical milestone in the career progression of officers.
The candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and physical fitness, as well as their ability to command and lead.
The examination is designed to test their readiness for higher responsibilities and to identify those who have the potential to become effective leaders in the Nigerian Army. With the examination underway, the candidates are urged to stay focused, disciplined, and determined to achieve success.
