The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the well-being of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel.
According to the Deputy Director Public Relations and Information NAF, Group Captain Kabiru Ali stated this in a statement Wednesday said, the CAS noted that ensuring the health of NAF personnel was not just a duty nut a fundamental pillar of his vision.
Speaking at the NAF Medical Conference 2025, Air Marshal Abubakar stressed that a healthy force is a capable force hence he would continue to give it desired attention.
Air Marshal Abubakar highlighted the importance of medical preparedness in achieving operational effectiveness, noting that NAF personnel operate in high-risk environments that demand peak physical and mental readiness.
He emphasised that healthcare is a critical component of their work, and under his leadership, the NAF has taken deliberate steps to strengthen its medical capabilities.
He enumerated the efforts include providing specialised training for medical personnel in aviation medicine in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Pakistan, and India.
He noted that the NAF has also established residency programmes in key medical fields, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing the expertise of its medical personnel.
The CAS further said, the NAF has revitalised the 061 Aeromedical Centre and is working to establish a trauma centre at the 465 NAF Hospital in Kano.
These initiatives, according to him aim to provide top-notch medical care to NAF personnel and their families.
The CAS expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support.
He also acknowledged the achievements of the NAF Medical Branch under his leadership, including securing four accreditations for medical training and commissioning a new hospital in Abuja.
Air Marshal Abubakar’s commitment to personnel well-being is evident in his efforts to promote a healthy and capable force.
His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the NAF’s medical capabilities, and his vision for the service prioritises the health and well-being of its personnel.
