The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has taken a significant step towards enhancing joint operational effectiveness by inaugurating the maiden edition of the Aviation Fuel Handling and Administration Course for Nigerian Army Aviation personnel.
The Director Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame revealed this in a statement said the landmark initiative,conducted through the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), aims to equip participants with critical skills in managing aviation fuel installations, among others.
“The technical training course is a significant stride in capacity building designed to equip participants with the requisite knowledge and hands-on skills for managing Aviation Bulk Fuel Installations, conducting aircraft fuelling operations, and ensuring aviation fuel quality control, operating bowsers, and executing other critical tasks that support the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army,” he stated.
He noted that the training reflects the visionary leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who emphasised the strategic importance of logistics support in successful military operations.
According to him, the collaboration between NAF and the Nigerian Army highlights AFIT’s pivotal role in driving technical excellence within Nigeria’s aviation sector and sets a new benchmark for integrated force training and cooperation.
Enugu Reporters gathered that by strengthening aviation fuel handling capacity, this joint initiative is expected to enhance the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army Aviation and reinforce the effectiveness of joint operations.
This groundbreaking collaboration marks a significant milestone in inter-Service cooperation, fostering a more integrated and effective approach to national defence.
