The Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC) and the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) have joined forces to boost the effectiveness of military training.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, TRADOC NA , disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Speaking during the familiarisation visit to the Headquarters TRADOC in Minna, Niger State, the Commander of NATRAC, Major General John Sokoya, emphasised the importance of collaboration between the two institutions.
“We are soliciting the support of TRADOC to prepare for the subsequent EXERCISE MUGUN BUGU, which is the highest Army level field training exercise,” Maj Gen Sokoya stated.
He commended TRADOC’s pivotal role in coordinating and executing EXERCISE MUGUN BUGU I, II, and III, designed to test and refine the operational effectiveness of Nigerian Army formations and units.
He described TRADOC, as the hub and brain trust of the Nigerian Army, noting that it plays a critical role in formulating and executing training directives.
Major General Sokoya highlighted the importance of constructive collaboration between TRADOC and NATRAC in conducting realistic and mission-specific training for troops.
In response, Commander of TRADOC, Major General Kevin Aligbe described the visit as timely and mission-driven. “When you train together, you fight better together. Command and control is much easier when elements of a unit understand each other in the field.
“Such joint training initiatives have significantly improved the Army’s preparedness to address the country’s mutating security threats,” he said.
According to the statement by Lieutenant Colonel Uba the collaboration between TRADOC and NATRAC aims to enhance the performance of Nigerian Army formations and units in the field, ultimately leading to better operational outcomes.
