The Nigerian Army (NA) has tasked its training institutions to focus on conducting relevant, adaptive, and mission-focused courses to fight contemporary operational challenges.
The directive was given by the Chief of Training (Army), Major General Abubakar Ndalolo, during the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) 2025 Mid-Year Courses Appraisal Conference, held at the Headquarters TRADOC Auditorium, Minna, Niger State.
According to the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations TRADOC NA, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the conference, which held from June 18 to 21, 2025, provided an opportunity for the Nigerian Army training institutions to assess progress made and proffer solutions to challenges faced during the six-month training period.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Ndalolo , who was Represented by the Deputy Chief of Training (Army) Courses and Examination, Major General Ayoola Aboaba, emphasised that the ultimate objective of training is unchangeably to produce competent, confident, and mission-ready officers and soldiers for the Nigerian Army.
He reassured that the Army Headquarters Department of Training remains committed to facilitating the conduct of courses that are relevant, adaptive, and mission-focused for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
General Ndalolo said the essence of the conference is to reevaluate and reflect on the implementation gaps, align with the emerging operational demands, and challenges to effectively address them.
Earlier, the Commander TRADOC NA, Major General Kevin Aligbe, stated that the conference aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy, which aims to consolidate the transformation of the NA towards bequeathing a well-motivated and combat-ready force.
General Aligbe , who was represented by the Chief of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation TRADOC , Major General Aminu Chinade , said the appraisal was in relation to the compliance and implementation of course approved for the training institutions and to outline challenges faced.
The Commander TRADOC NA also reminded the participants about the forthcoming Combat Arms, Combat Support Arms, and Combat Service Arms Field Training Exercise (EXERCISE MUGUN BUGU 2025), which will be conducted towards the end of the year. He urged the training institutions to remain resolute in pursuit of excellence.
The Commander commended the participants for displaying a high level of professionalism in advancing improved training activities for the NA Training Schools within the past six months.
