… as General Unachukwu commiserates with victims of bomb attack

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division and Commander Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu, has likened the insurgents’ tactics to “the last kick of a dying horse,” indicating desperation.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Ajemasu Yake Jinjina, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 7 Division, the GOC visited Konduga to commiserate with the victims’ families of the suicide bomb attack in the area, assuring residents of the military’s commitment to their safety.
The statement noted that on June 20 2025, Borno State was rocked by a devastating suicide bomb attack, at a bustling fish market, in Konduga Local Government Area, claiming at least 16 lives and injuring several others.
Dueing the visit, Brigadier General Unachukwu assured the families of the victims saying, “We are dedicated to defeating the enemies of peace and stability, and we will continue to work with other security agencies and stakeholders to achieve this noble goal within the shortest possible time.
He noted that troops and security agencies have cordoned off the area, conducting thorough scans to prevent further attacks and restore public confidence.
General Unachukwu urged residents to remain vigilant, reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
“We will get through this together, and we will emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.”
The GOC urged the residents to cooperate with the military to defeat the Insurgents.
He described the suicide bombers as “the last kick of a dying horse,adding that there tactics are often employed when they can no longer carry out direct attacks. He called on the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious moments or activities to the security agents for necessary actions.
Enugu Reporters reports that the GOC’s visit aimed to reassure residents of the military’s commitment to their safety and security, assuring them that every possible measure was being taken to protect lives and secure communities.
