The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a student of Benue State University, Jessica Agee, by gunmen.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Catherine Anene, in a chat with journalists on Tuesday, said the student was killed at her residence at Gadyo Villa in Makurdi on Monday night.
She explained the remains of the student have been deposited at a mortuary, adding an investigation into the killing was ongoing.
Her words: “The incident is confirmed, the corpse has been deposited at a morgue while an investigation is in progress.”
