The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Buratai has commissioned a two storey magnificent world class edifice for the Nigerian Army Resource Center (NARC) in Abuja.
An edifice which have hall A, B, and C have the sitting capacity of three hundred and fifty people put together the halls.
The new complex also have in it multimedia facilities,board rooms, study rooms, world class standard ICT wired facilities, well furnished e-learning center,CCTVs among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the COAS said the Nigerian army resource center was established to serve as a service think-tank for both national and international functions, benefits and interest of all.
Buratai while expressing his delight for the services rendered so far by the center since it’s establishment, said the center has attained a status that is beneficial to both the military and other paramilitary agencies,departments, institutions both within and outside Nigeria which including training of participants on security, research,science ,amongst others.
He further express confidence that the center will achieve the desired objectives which it was established for. Explaining that NARC is a think-tank that provides intellectual research, promotes workshops and seminars as well as provide solutions to army and defence headquarters and other security agencies.
COAS further described the collaboration agreements signed by NARC with national and international institutions as both historic, significant and purposeful as well as commendable.
“We also have collaboration with International institutions such as King college in London, United service institute of India, Kennedy Herbert institute in United States these are well recognized institutions globally.
“We are also working with Loyal institute in London in order to get the necessary support and intellectual guidance as well as carry out research that are needed,” he added.
Gen. Buratai after Commissioning the complex, he further deliver a lecture titled “Repositioning the Nigerian Army to meet the Transmuting Security Threats Facing the Nation: Prospects and Challenges.”
The Centre which was established on 20th November 2015, is conceptualized as a national ‘Think-Tank’ with the sole aim of furthering the interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the defence Services. It is saddled with the responsibility of proffering solutions to defence and security issues confronting the Nigerian Army (NA) in particular and the nation in general.
The Centre is also positions to providing publication of journals (specifically defence related journals ), organising seminars as well as providing a security related consultancy services amongst other security related services.
