Gen Abdulssalam pledges enhanced collaboration with NSCDC to boost national security

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army/ Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, has reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

General Abdulssalam pledged during a familiarization visit by the newly appointed Zonal Commander of NSCDC, Zone L, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Ayila Taiwo Olowo, to the Division’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt on June 3, 2024.

According to Lieutenant Colonel DJ Danjuma, Acting Deputy Director 6 Division, Major General Abdussalam emphasized the interconnectedness of the NA and NSCDC. He highlighted the history of extensive collaboration between the two agencies in various aspects, such as personnel training, joint operations, and other security-related activities.

Major General Abdussalam stressed the existing synergy in the Niger Delta Region (NDR) and reiterated the commitment to synergize with the NSCDC and other security agencies to fulfil the overarching objective of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja’s command philosophy. He acknowledged the significance of synergy in intelligence sharing and joint operations with other agencies and pledged continued support and cooperation with all security agencies in the NDR.

The GOC encouraged the newly appointed Zonal Commander to maintain positive relationships with other security agencies in the NDR. ACG Olowo, who oversees NSCDC Zone L, covering Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, and Rivers States, commended the GOC for the harmonious working relationship with his organization and other security agencies, as well as the prompt response to security cooperation requests.
