Troops foil IPOB terrorists’ attack on Police Station, kill 5 in fierce gun battle

In a swift and decisive response, Nigerian Army troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Ebonyi State repelled a brazen attack on Isheke Police Station by suspected IPOB terrorists, who attempted to torch the facility and destroy several vehicles.

Reports say, that upon arriving at the scene, troops launched a counter-attack, overpowering the terrorists and forcing them to flee in disarray.
Subsequently, a hot pursuit ensued, culminating in an intense gun battle that resulted in the elimination of five suspected terrorists. Troops also seized several weapons, including a PKT Machine Gun, AK-47 rifles, a Sub Machine Gun, and a Sienna SUV.

The Nigerian Army remains committed to operating in synergy with sister services and security agencies to combat IPOB and ESN terrorist activities.
The Nigerian Army has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the authorities.
