The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully airlifted 582 students of the Air Force Military School (AFMS) and Air Force Girls Military School (AFGMS) in Jos, Plateau State, to various destinations across the country for their holiday break.
In a statement on Friday, the Director of Public Relations and Information NAF, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said the humanitarian effort, approved by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, underscores the NAF’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students.
The airlift operation, which commenced on August 3, 2024, utilized the NAF’s C-130 heavy lift aircraft to transport the students to their respective destinations, including Abuja, Enugu, Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Makurdi, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Yola.
He said the exercise was meticulously planned and executed to guarantee the students’ safe arrival at their destinations.
Air Vice Marshal Gabkwet, emphasized the NAF’s commitment to the welfare of its students, noting that the NAF is delighted to have successfully airlifted the students to their various destinations to ensure they spend quality time with their families and loved ones during the holiday break.
He added that NAF has also concluded arrangements for their safe return to Jos at the end of the holidays.
