In a precision strike, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a devastating blow to terrorists and economic saboteurs in multiple operations across the country.
The Air Component of Operation WHIRL PUNCH has been relentless in its pursuit of terrorists responsible for recent attacks on innocent civilians in Niger State.
Intelligence gathering revealed that the perpetrators of these heinous acts had relocated to Malum Forest in Kaduna State, prompting the NAF to launch a targeted air interdiction mission on August 21, 2024.
The operation resulted in significant enemy casualties, with several terrorists eliminated, as confirmed by
Battle Damage Assessment and feedback from local sources.
Similarly, the NAF conducted successful strikes on terrorists’ hideouts at Bayan Ruwa in Zamfara State, utilizing precision-guided munitions to destroy zinced-roofed structures and neutralize the threats.
In the Niger Delta Region, the Air Component of Operation DELTA SAFE according to the statement, has been conducting patrols to curb illegal refining activities.
Recent operations in the Imo and Rivers States led to the destruction of over 25 illegal refining sites and overhead tanks, significantly disrupting illicit activities.
Additionally, the NAF identified and reported a leaking pipeline in Greenville, Rivers State, which was causing environmental damage. The timely intervention highlights the NAF’s commitment to protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure and preserving the environment.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, confirmed these developments, showcasing the NAF’s unwavering dedication to ensuring national security and stability.
