The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, embarked on a 2-day operational tour of the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji and 213 Forward Operating Base in Katsina State, starting September 15, 2024.
Deputy Director Public Relations and Information, NAF, Group Captain Kabiru Ali disclosed this in a statement said, the visit underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to fortifying security efforts and collaboration with Katsina State to combat banditry and insecurity in the North-West region.
During his tour, Air Marshal Abubakar paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dikko Umar Radda at the Government House, expressing gratitude for the warm reception despite the short notice and Eid Maulud festivities. He lauded the Governor’s unwavering support for the NAF and his robust security measures, which ensured a bandit-free planting season.
The CAS highlighted significant progress in securing the state, attributing success to the Governor’s initiatives such as the Katsina Community Watch Corps and enhanced intelligence-sharing infrastructure.
He assured continued NAF support for farmers during the upcoming harvest season and revealed intensified airstrikes against criminal elements in the North-West.
He expressed condolences to the Governor and Katsina State over the passing of Hajiya Nana Yar’adua and prayed for the repose of her soul.
Governor Radda welcomed Air Marshal Abubakar, praising the NAF’s unwavering support and successful air operations that reduced banditry threats. He commended the NAF’s commitment to regional security and pledged collaboration to safeguard Katsina State’s residents.
He expressed optimism that the increased farmer’s protection and military operations in the State would enhanced farm production.
During his visit, the CAS received operational briefs, paid condolences to the Yar’adua family, and inspected the 213 Forward Operating Base’s Quick Response Wing readiness.
